EIT Food Entrepreneurs

Updated: Jul 20

Welcome Summer! It has been an exciting season so far, now I can officially announce that over the next six months I will be working closely with EIT Food to help develop their Seedbed Incubator Programme. I cannot put into words how thrilled I am about this because with EIT Food there's an opportunity to build a much bigger impact in making the food system more sustainable, healthy and trusted. Find out more about EIT Food here

Seedbed is a programme funded by the European Union to support aspiring entrepreneurs on their journey to commercialise innovations that are helping to solve big food system challenges. Over the past few weeks I worked on the brochure to announce this year’s cohort - you can take a look at all the successful profiles in more detail here. It's impressive to learn all about the new technologies that are being developed across EIT Food's key focus areas: Sustainable Agriculture, Sustainable Aquaculture, Digital Traceability, Circular Food Systems, Alternative Proteins and Targeted Nutrition.

I have also recently moved to sunny Barcelona to get more involved with the European city's thriving food tech startup community.

So far my impression of Barcelona feels progressive, cosmopolitan and creative - all the things that align well to grow a network of positive like-minded people and valuable collaborations.

So watch this space! I'm now looking forward to creating a new Communications Strategy for Seedbed to reach out to wider audiences, that will drive Europe to become more regenerative. Applications will be open in September 2021, and if this sounds like you, please join the new EIT Food Entrepreneurs group on FB or LinkedIn, where I will keep you up to date on everything!
